Here at Capstone Community Action, we help Central Vermonters make ends meet every day.
Rosie Manning and Mary Johnson are Capstone’s Financial and Business Coaches. Together, they provide personalized financial coaching sessions for individuals and educational classes for groups. Topics range from personal record keeping, tax returns, and spending plans to saving, borrowing, improving credit, and auto purchases.
“My favorite thing about my job is watching our participants get it. Seeing them save even $5 or $10 for three months in a row. This is miraculous for some of our participants. They will often say to us I’ve never been able to save until now. We focus on their strengths and slowly but surely help them build a strategy. When we teach the people we serve how to strategize for themselves, it doesn’t get better than that as far as I’m concerned,” explains Mary.
“It may feel scary initially when it comes to talking about personal finances. But I meet them right where they’re at in life and there’s no judgement from me,” adds Rosie.
Rosie and Mary worked with 285 individuals from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022. These are some of the 10,000 Vermonters served by Capstone during that time. Whether it’s healthy food, early childhood care, a warm home or help with household budgeting, we will continue to support Central Vermonters as they face high prices for basic needs.
Your gift of $25, $50, $100, $500 or $1,000 will help our neighbors to weather this challenging season, moving forward with more skills, resources and greater stability. Please give generously and empower Central Vermonters to create brighter futures. Donate today at https://support.capstonevt.org/give/257703/....
