Regional Council Spotlight: The Chittenden Regional Council hosted Vermont Kin as Parents (VKAP) on Thursday, December 1st to provide an overview of their organization and the services they provide to Vermonters. It was opportunity for our regional partners to learn more about kinship in the State of Vermont. Nearly 10,600 children are living in kinship care and most caretakers are older Vermonters. The Chittenden regional council and its partners were eager to learn about kinship in Vermont and all the great services they provide such as education, peer to peer support, financial support, service navigation and access to basic needs.
