I’d like to introduce you to *Betsy and share how the generosity of our donors kept her warm last winter.

Betsy is in her 80’s and lost her husband in the last year. Her husband’s passing increased her social security just enough that she no longer qualifies for state heating assistance programs.

Yet the additional funds are not enough to cover her bills and basic needs. The increased costs of food and fuel are making her small budget even tighter.

Thankfully, Betsy, like many of our elderly neighbors on fixed incomes, connected with Capstone staff and received heating assistance paid for with donated funds.

Betsy is just one of many Vermonters that will continue to struggle with skyrocketing food and heating prices as winter approaches in our state.

In the next year, thousands of Central Vermonters will visit Capstone for nutritious meals as well as support to keep their homes warm and safe. None of this work would be possible without the continued support of our dedicated donors.

Our 7th annual Fuel Your Neighbors campaign, powered by VSECU, starts on Giving Tuesday (November 29) to raise $300,000 in 100 days for our emergency food and heating assistance programs.

Your donation of $25, $50, $100 or $250 will help our neighbors make ends meet as they face the unknowns of the future.

Donate today at fuelyourneighbors.org. Your gift will double its impact with a $1 for $1 match thanks to our generous community partners, VSECU and The Alchemist. #fuelyourneighbors
