DATE / TIME OF INCIDENT: 11 August 2022 @ 1317 hours (01:17 PM)

INCIDENT NUMBER: 22MP005174

TYPE OF EVENT(S): Simple Assault, Unlawful Mischief, Disorderly Conduct

LOCATION OF EVENT(S): Exterior Common Area of Apartment Building on Nelson Street in Montpelier

INVESTIGATING OFFICER(S): Detective Corporal Diane Mathews, Officer Alesha Donovan, Deputy Chief Eric Nordenson

ASSISTING AGENCIES: Washington County Mental Health Services, Montpelier Ambulance Service

At the above date and time, the Montpelier Police Department responded to a report of a physical altercation between neighbors outside an apartment building. It was determined one of the residents had assaulted another, displayed violent and tumultuous behavior in a public space, and damaged their neighbor’s property.

Our investigation revealed probable cause that a 57-year-old female from Montpelier had committed the crime(s) of simple assault, unlawful mischief, and disorderly conduct and was arrested. They were evaluated by Washington County Mental Health Services and the Montpelier Ambulance Service due to their mental state and injuries sustained during this incident.
