Nelson Ace Hardware in Barre, Vermont, is celebrating 39 years in business by hosting a grand reopening Friday, Aug. 12, through Sunday, Aug. 14.
Customers will be offered the chance to win free giveaways, watch a hardware and grilling demo, and take advantage sale prices on more than 20 items throughout the store.
"Nelson's is more than a just a hardware store," the store's website says. "We have an excellent selection of portable appliances, giftware and housewares items, anything you need for your kitchen. Nelson Ace Hardware, located at 188 North Main Street in Barre, was established in 1983 by Carroll, Sarah and Bob Nelson and is currently owned and operated by Bob and Linda Nelson.
The store has very strong ties to its local community, participating in many of the community's activities and employing local members of the community, including high school and college students.
Owner Bob Nelson was honored by the Central Vermont Chamber for his time and service contributed to the Barre community in efforts to making it a great place to live, work and do business, according to the Times-Argus Online.
Bob Nelson currently serves on the Barre Town Select Board, the police advisory committee and the Barre Partnership Board. He also has been on committees to hire/replace the chief of police and the city manager, the budget committee, Barre Rotary, Barre Lions Club and various other clubs and organizations, according to the Times-Argus Online.
On Friday, Aug. 12, a Milwaukee demo will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and customers will have a chance to enter a drawing for a Milwaukee drill and driver valued at $400. A Traeger grilling demo will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and customers can enter for the chance to win a Weber Spirit Grill valued at $459.
Nelson Ace Hardware is also offering $5 off any purchase of $25 or more for regular-price merchandise on Friday, along with a special of 39% off any one regular-price item under $30 on Saturday in commemoration of their 39 years in business.
Nelson Ace Hardware offers specialty services including delivery and assembly, key cutting, propane exchange, special orders, UPS services, fluorescent bulbs and mercury recycling, appliance repairs, blade sharpening, carpet cleaning equipment rental and paint color matching.
