6

Staff at Circle are deeply outraged and riddled with grief after hearing the news this morning of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. This decision will directly impact survivors.

Homicide is a leading cause of death for pregnant women in an abusive intimate partner relationship. Women of ALL cultural backgrounds are at an increased risk of physical abuse during pregnancy. In a 2014 study published by BMC medicine showed that 25% of DV survivors reported experiencing reproductive coercion (abusers forcing their partners to get pregnant). Being unable to get an abortion directly tethers a survivor to her abusive partner.

Access to reproductive care is directly associated with our work to help end domestic and sexual violence within our communities and our world. Circle is here for every survivors' right to choose and we will never stop fighting for that. May you all take the time you need to cry, scream, and breathe. Your story deserves to be listened to. Refuse to be silenced. When you're ready to take action, Circle will be here for you.

Please call our 24/7 confidential hotline: 1-877-543-9498 for support, resources, & safety planning.
