Montpelier Food Pantry issued the following announcement on March 26.
One of our best sources of fresh and frozen food for the food pantry is through the Fresh Rescue Program. Our current Fresh Rescue partners are Shaw's, Trader Joe's and Cumberland Farms and we receive meat, bread, dairy, produce and prepared food from them every week. In 2021, 2,860,673 pounds of food were recovered from participating companies and redistributed to the public through food pantries, community meal sites, Meals on Wheels, etc. What a great program, saves SO much waste and we get some really amazing food.
