After a rigorous promotional process over the last few weeks, we are very pleased to announce the promotion of Corporal Chris Quesnel and Detective Corporal Diane Mathews to Patrol Sergeant.

With over 25 years of community policing experience between them, Chris and Diane will provide essential administrative and first line supervisory services to our department.

They join our other supervisors, officers, dispatchers, and support staff in embracing the progressive culture of policing the Montpelier community demands. They continue to demonstrate the leadership, personal, and professional qualities necessary for policing in the 21st century.

We are proud to note that Diane Mathews is the first female Patrol Sergeant in MPD history and continues to pave the way for the advancement of women in policing in Central Vermont.

Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Quesnel and Sergeant Mathews on their recent achievements!
