Late yesterday, at the start of the longest night of the year, the winter solstice, we gathered with our communities across Lamoille, Washington and Orange counties to honor those who experienced homelessness and passed away during the last year. Each vigil was unique, yet held the common thread of an intentional moment of remembrance rooted in dignity and respect.

In the words of Rev. Joan Javier-Duval of the Unitarian Church of Montpelier, “We honor the memories of those we have lost with our continued commitment to use our will and resources to meet the fundamental need of housing for all.”

Events were organized in collaboration with area Continuum of Care groups and community partners like Another Way (Image 1, Montpelier) and the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe (Image 2, Stowe with Rabbi David and Sue Minter).
