Head Start and the Tooth Tutor Program have your back

As your kiddos are trick or treating and enjoying all the Halloween candy tonight, there is no need to worry about their little teeth. Head Start and the Tooth Tutor Program have your back.

Have you heard of the Tooth Tutor Program?

Our Head Start classrooms partner with a statewide, dental access program supporting positive oral health practices, identifying potential issues, educating children, addressing anxieties and collaborating with the dental community.

Classroom visits started back up this month after in-person visits were paused during the pandemic. Kiddos from the Butterflies classroom at the Lamoille County Early Learning Center had breakfast, each brushed their teeth, and then were led through a story book about tooth care. Tooth Tutor Kimmy gave a demonstration of brushing with Elvis, the dragon puppet, and all the children practiced their brushing skills on Elvis themselves. After that, each child received a dental assessment from Kimmy.

To get a peek at what Kimmy brings to the children, check out her YouTube channel, Tooth Time Videos, here: https://www.youtube.com/…/UCUi8hqZF099j4_wqbsmwCdg/videos.
